GENERAL&PURPOSE

. ● The purpose of a bridge navigational watch alarm system (BNWAS) is to monitor bridge activity and detect operator disability which could lead to marine accidents. The system monitors the awareness of the Officer of the Watch(OOW) and automatically alerts the Master or another qualified OOW if for any reason the OOW becomes incapable of performing the OOW’ s duties. This purpose is achieved by a series of indications and alarms to alert first the OOW and, if he is not responding, then to alert the Master or another qualified OOW.
. ● Additionally, the BNWAS may provide the OOW with emergency for immediate assistance if required.
. ● The BNWAS should be operational whenever the ship’s heading or track control system is engaged, unless inhibited by the Master.

. . Main operation panel. It can be fit as wall mount type together with main control box and also can be fit by table mount type on bridge control console separately.

MAIN FUNCTION AND FEATURE

. Main function as follows,
Model select switch (3 way with lock)
. The switch has 3 ways which is “AUTO”, “MANU ON” and “MANU OFF” with LED indicator. The special key is equipped and kept by captain. Any other crew member can not touch it except authorized by captain.
. “AUTO” MODEL
. At this position system will be brought into operation working automatically whenever ship’s heading or track control system is activated and remains dormant when it is not activated.
. “MANU ON” MODEL
. At this position system will operate normally.
. “MANU OFF” MODEL
. At this position system will remain dormant.
. All the parameter reset can be done at this position.
Time display
. Count down the dormant time that needs OOW to reset (3-12min). It will show minute and the green indicator of “Min.” will be lit if time is more than 60 seconds. It will show seconds and the red indicator of “sec.” will be lit if time is less than 60 seconds.
Back-up officer location select switch
. Select location of back-up officer
Reset button
. The function of this button with lamp is the same as other reset button fit in bridge.
Emergency calling button
. Press this button to activate second stage and third stage alarm to ask the assistance if require.
“set”
. At the model of “MAN. OFF” to set parameter.
“Lamp test”
. At any model can test lamp and audible alarm
. At set model increase setting volue
“Dimmer”
. At any model can operate light dimming so as not to impair OOW’s night vision.
. At set model decrease setting volume

The system can communicate with SVDR to record data.
Motion detector (PIR) can be used to reset the system
AC110V/220V as main power and DC24V as emergency power standby. System will power on DC24V automatically if main power is missing and gives alarm as well.
It can be self-checking. If it is not in good working condition the indicator of “SYSTEM FAILURE” will be lit. At the same time it will give audible alarm.
Power failure alarm and system failure alarm (dry contact)can be provided on a central alarm panel if fitted.
